An African sculpture from the Shona art movement, hand-carved from soapstone.
On the back of the sculpture, there is a text that refers to the beauty that we have difficulty distinguishing today because everything is similar to each other, and in this way, it turns into a sculpture that you can use on both sides.
"It was beautiful, not as beautiful as it used to be.
Everything was either very similar or very visible.
But what is hidden and discoverable calls us.
Mystery is excitement.
Difference is attractive.
Looks, smiles, shapes.
Walks, thoughts, sayings…
Crowds, groups, communities...
Works, powers, products…
Places to be reached, role models, lives..
Was it very similar?
Was it too visible?
It was as if it had lost its beautiful meaning.
Either we should draw a new path for beauty
or should have pursued the most secret..."
The Statue of Beautification will add visual and artistic richness to the environment it is in, while also making a difference with the philosophy it contains.
