One of the world's largest and most diverse stone reserves is found in Zimbabwe. Shona art, an art movement born from this diversity, takes its name from the Shona tribe and has a history of 1000 years.
According to the Shona tribe's belief, the spirits of their ancestors and gods continue to live in the stones. Artists reveal these spirits when they carve the stones.
FOLD is a work made from Cobalt Stone by the sculptor THOMAS NYASOKA in 2021.
The fold is everywhere. In the soul and body, in mathematics, physics, architecture, painting, music, contemporary art... The infinite line of the fold extends everywhere life is an event, producing new singularities, multiplying differences. (Inspired by DELEUZE)
